| A milk train from Oringi to Palmerston North emerges from tunnel 1 in the Manawatu Gorge. The line was built in the 1890's mainly with hand tools. Photo is taken from Highway 3 which is mostly on bridge sections and can be closed for weeks at a time due to instability of the mountainside. |
