| Santa Specials began on the South Tynedale railway on Saturday, locomotive Thomas Edmondsen was at the south facing end and a small diesel faced north. Made the journey much quicker being top and tailed so more trains could be run. Here the first train of the day returns to Alston passing as it does the 1 mile milepost. Ten minutes later there was a snow storm for half an hour making this shot far more seasonal. Sun never did come out again though |
