It is October 1981, in less than 6 months, the ferries would stop traversing Lake Michigan, and the end of this line would be set, but, prior to this, 4 Ann Arbor units roll through the beautiful town of Beulah, MI. as they head east (south) through town. In the background is the picturesque and aptly named Crystal Lake. This line that the train is running on ran from Cadillac to the boat landing in Elberta, but after the ferries stopped running, the line was abandoned north of Yuma, MI. and is now the Betsie Valley Rail Trail. 35mm slide from my collection, photo by Bill Clynes.
Photographs where trains and people mix, weather it's street running, plant switching or carrying a unit grain train out of an elevator, it will be put here.
