No wonder these four Fairbanks-Morse 6-axle diesels (61A, 61B, 60B, 62B) were still on KCS’s roster on May 22, 1966 — there were all re-engined by EMD ten years earlier in 1956. They soon went back to EMD as trade-ins. The fifth unit hanging on at Kansas City yard was UP GP-9B 142B.
