Early in the morning of January 20th, JS 8225 thunders up the last 100 meters of 2%+ grade out of the Opencast Pit and into the junction at Kuang Kou Zhan. Kuang Kou Zhan means Mine Entrance Station in Chinese denoting its importance as a major junction on the Sandaoling system. Kuang Kou Zhan is where lines from the workshop, locomotive servicing point, and col washery come together to enter the Opencast Pit.
