| Overlander bound for Wellington passes through Cloverlea, Palmerston North. The electrification installed in 1980s ends just north of this location and the Overlander was often hauled by EF electrics from Hamilton to Palmerston North. A new train, the Northern Explorer, replaced this train in 2012 and the carriages are now used for charter trains. |
