The former Santa Fe depot in Amarillo, Texas, hasn’t been used by the railroad for many years but still looks great. The baggage room looks as though it is ready for travelers. Who knows, if(?) Amtrak’s Southwest Chief gets rerouted off the Raton Pass route to the Transcon, maybe this depot will host passenger trains again . . .
Oh the stories these special buildings could tell. Originally the brains of the rails they monitored, working to insure effecient rail service for our nation! A tribute!
