Remarks & Notes
Exactly 100 years after beginning of operation over the Lötschberg mountain line from Frutigen to Brig, the standard train of today, a double RABe 535 "Lötschberger" is crossing the Kander viaduct near Frutigen on the way to Kandersteg-Goppenstein-Brig. The modern concrete second Kander viaduct was built in 1981 when the mountain line got the second track, and is 285 meter long and about 28 meter high. The snow covered mountains in the background are Balmhorn (3698 m) and Altels (3629 m). This view of Kander viaduct with the mountains in the background is a typical and often used publicity picture.
