Remarks & Notes |
In an odd way, there's something pretty neat about waiting for a train in the countryside during a blinding snow storm. It's unlike any other type of railfanning I've done. Aside from the obvious (i.e. becoming numb and trying to protect your camera and sanity) it's so quiet, and it seems like the only thing moving is the falling snow until suddenly you see a headlight appear on a train doing 79mph kicking up its own blizzard. It takes a split second to realize it's actually "go time" and get your fingers to work, and then it's over in a few clicks of the shutter. In a few more seconds a passerby would have no clue they just missed such a powerful sight. |
