Ma On Shan Rail was opened in late-2004, connecting Sha Tin to Ma On Shan. After twenty years of planning and construction, the first phase of Shatin to Central Link will be partially opened in Feb 2020. Ma On Shan Line will further extend its service down to Kai Tak, Kowloon and will be renamed as Tuen Ma Line.
