Remarks & Notes |
Weyerhaeuser #110 hauls its 7 car train up the 4-6% grade of Tin Mill Hill. #110 was built by Baldwin in 1928 for Weyerhaeuser's Vail operation where it operated until 1954. At this time it was sold to Rayonier Inc. who used it on their Grays Harbor Line until 1968. Rayonier sold it to the Promontory Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society that year. In 1971 the locomotive was put on display in Heber City, Utah. By 1993 #110 had been sold to the Nevada State Railroad Museum, who put it in storage at their Boulder City site. Finally in 1999 the locomotive was sold to the Black Hills Central Railroad. In January 2001 #110 returned to steam making in the only operating logging mallet in the world. |
