| As long as I have lived in Meadville, I never would have expected to see this scene. It warmed my heart to see this train sitting in the railroad yard of my home town. Here, the Western New York & Pennsylvania Alcos have been uncoupled from the tail end of the train. This special traveled over the WNYP from Hornell to Meadville and down the Oil City Branch to Franklin and back. The train will continue on to Youngstown and Pittsburgh via Norfolk Southern. To the right is the former Erie Railroad yard tower, which NS now uses for crew changes. |
