| The Buchanan Forest Products owned Terrace Bay Pulp mill is just 1 of just 4 pulp/paper mills left running in Northwestern Ontario. Prior to the recession there were 10 mills operating in the area. The Terrace Bay mill had just re-opened after nearly 2 years idled. Here the mills private unit shunts carloads of Sodium Chlorate. Hopefully the trend continues with 11 area sawmills shut down, but it looks to be fate with the pulp/paper mills. |
