Remarks & Notes
Brought back from the dead, look who's 100 now! Tacoma's iconic Union station is all gussied up for it's Centennial celebration. The color guard has just presented the flag and the speeches are about to begin. Union Station was designed by the St. Paul Minnesota architects Reed and Stem (who were also responsible for New Yorks Grand Central terminal) and visited by Presidents and celebrities (including Tacoma's own Bing Crosby) before falling in to disuse and disrepair. After finding a place on the National Register of Historic Places, funding was found for restoration and transformation (including an addition) to a Federal Courthouse. May she see another 100!
