Remarks & Notes
The hazy skies of the Steel City dominate the downtown skyline scene in this view as seen from the platforms during PRR's early 50's station renovation. A pair of PRR E8's in Brunswick Green have the point of a train departing the shed. John shot a variety of color film, often on the same trip. Note that this train is on the Panhandle route to St. Louis. The first EP22s were delivered in 1950 as seen in this photo, and the later ones dating to 1952 arrived in Tuscan Red. Ansco Color original.

Good Light, Good Scenery, and a Train

Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
