| In the last year of service with BR, Deltic 55009 Alycidon awaits departure from Newcastle Central with the 20.30 Postal service to London Kings Cross, the steam heating being more than welcomed on this cold February night! The final British Rail Deltic hauled train ran on January 2 1982 - 29 years ago today. Fortunately this locomotive made it into preservation. |
