One of the highlights of the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad’s 2010 Railfest has been this consist of green passenger cars pulled by C-18 class consolidation #315. This entire consist was lettered for the Denver & Rio Grande Western featuring heralds and stenciling appropriate for the late 1930’s. This photo was taken in the valley at Home Ranch Siding after the freight portion of the mixed consist had been set out. The D&S train crew, also dressed as train crew from the 1930’s, was preparing to do an air test on the train prior to departing for Durango.
