Remarks & Notes |
Standing inside the west portal of the soot - stained Blue Ridge Tunnel nestled deep in the woods of Afton Mountain, this cold creepy feeling comes over you. Blue Ridge tunnel was one of Claudius Crozet's architectural masterpieces. The tunnel was completed in 1858 and stands at 4,273 feet long. It is going on 66 years since the tunnel was abandoned in 1944. Well worth another vist to pay my respects to Mr. Crozet. Canon EOS 50D |
