| The Ae 6/8 with 4'400 kW / 6'000 PS is a BLS historical engine, here on a "Nostalgie Rhein Express" trip from Freiburg (D) to Mendrisio. This unit was built 1939 and had for the first time in a high power locomotive a sitting position for the driver. This innovation (!) was shown for the first time on a Swiss national exhibition in 1939. In second position is the Ae 4/4 251, another of BLS historic collection. |
