A westbound E-L freight cruises through Griffith, IN, behind power that seemingly only the E-L or the Rock Island could field. E8A 818 is paired with an F7B and RS3 1049 to move the train towards Chicago. 818 has lost her grillwork and her days in passenger service are only a memory. Soon enough the west end of the railroad will only be a memory also.
