"Kate Shelley Express" making excursion runs across the old Kate Shelley high bridge over the Des Moines River a few miles west of Boone, Iowa as part of the first annual Pufferbilly Days celebration during Labor Day weekend, 1982. A large group of railfans snaps photos of the train as it crosses the bridge on its return trip to Boone. CNW #1385 has since been retired. I hope she can be brought back to life sometime in the near future. Today a new bridge is being built adjacent to the old bridge. (Image scanned from a Kodachrome slide)
