At dusk, the eastbound San Francisco Zehpyr departs from Fort Morgan, bound for Chicago, with three ex-CB&Q diesels, but a rainbow consist, including three ex-GN Sky Blues immediately behind the baggage car. Amtrak was still trying to replicate the dome service of the California Zephyr ... however, this train's dome view features the high plains of Wyoming, rather than the Rocky Mountains, as Rio Grande continued providing its own Denver-Salt Lake City service via the Rio Grande Zephyr.
