C&S Denver-Cheyenne freight extra 700D plowed in to on-time southbound Billings-Denver passenger train #30 at 6:48 a.m. in Broomfield, CO, when it failed to wait at Utah Junction or hold the siding at Semper. The collision destroyed CB&Q E7 #9936B and C&S F7-A 700D, and killed both engineers and one fireman. Information about the mystery behind this collision can be found here.
