In her 41st year on "The Road to Paradise", ex Great Western Railway #90 brings her 9-car "Wine and Cheese Train" past freshly tilled fields at Fairview. In a recent thread on a prominent railway discussion forum, a question was posed as to which surviving steamer had the most miles in tourist service. Several contributors chimed in, with most guessing that it was one of the monster engines such as SP 4449 or UP 844. Then, an employee of the Strasburg Railroad matter-of-factly announced that old #90 here had accumulated a grand total of 341,649 miles as of April 7th, 2009! While that may not be the record, she's traveled over 100,000 miles further than the moon is from the earth......9 miles at a time!
