The Colorado Eagle heads south through Colorado Springs, around Labor Day, 1958 - a swollen end of summer vacation consist - E8A , two E7B's and another E8A. Normally this train would have 3 units. It will continue south to Pueblo then head east to St. Louis. Just past the viaduct, to the right, is the joint D&RGW/Rock Island depot that still stands (although primarily as a restaurant).
