Remarks & Notes |
The engineer from "The Colonial" (AMT train #174) watches with a railfan as a "Philadelphia Clocker" (Amt train #213) heads west behind a r/w/b GG1. Amtrak only painted seven of the GG1s in this scheme, which some fans called the "Clown Face." "The Colonial" was a Newport News to Boston train. The NYC to Philly Clockers used a fleet of rebuilt coaches (converted from sleepers) and hand me down chair cars until enough Amfleet was delivered. |
