Powered by double ended P42DC's, the Heartland Flyer heads out of Fort Worth and begins its trip to Oklahoma City.

Amtrak 56 leads the Texas Eagle over the Trinity River.

The Texas Eagle crosses the Trinity River in Fort Worth, as it continues its journey to San Antonio.

The southbound Texas Eagle, more-or-less on time, bends around a high fill between McGregor and Moody TX on a fine December afternoon. The next stop is Temple, TX, probably 20 minutes away.

The eastbound "Sunset" is departing with three "pooches" in the lead. They sounded magnificent.
