Remarks & Notes
At a time when more prosperous roads are side-lining first-generation diesels in favor of more modern power, a foursome of aging Missouri Pacific geeps led by GP9 1809 crosses the Trinity River Bridge in Dallas with westbound freight NFY, 127 cars headed for Fort Worth. It’s high noon on the second day of 1978, the temperature is mild, the sky brilliant. Dallas’ skyline is just beginning to catch up with the city’s world-class ambitions. In a few decades this scene will be utterly transformed.
