Remarks & Notes
Amtrak's Empire Builder made its station stop at North La Crosse on a beautiful June day in 1972, and provided this opportunity for a faux Great Northern Big Sky Blue PR shot in the process. Dome coach 1331 and Great Dome Lounge Glacier View were flanked by two flat top GN cars among the rainbow of other colors common on this train during this period. Milwaukee Road's steam water tower was still standing in 1972.
