| Auto rack trains such as the V-KCKBGL are starting to become a regular sight in Pueblo thanks to the new auto facility opened at Big Lift (BGL) on June 1st of this year. This facility replaces the one located at Irondale just northeast of Denver and offers twice the trackage as the old location did. With more room on their hands, Big Lift allows BNSF to unload 65 auto racks daily whereas Irondale could only get about 28-35 racks unloaded per day. The increase in freight car turnaround and automobile capacity will help get consumer vehicles to dealerships more quickly and put extra traffic on the famed Joint Line. |
