| ESPN 1701 climbs the short grade out of the Kloeckner Metals parking lot after spotting a coil steel load within the facility. This siding is a fairly recent addition and was literally constructed across the edge of a parking lot to provide direct rail access into the building. A bit of shortline creativity! The loaded car can be seen within the door opening to the left of the engine. 1701 still wears the colors of the defunct Quaboag Transfer, a short-lived, specialized intermodal operation on the Central Vermont. |
