| NJ Transit has recently released several ALP-45DP "dual mode" units into service on the Newark Division. Since their delivery, it seems that most ALP45s were used on Hoboken Division trains. 4524 looks brand new in as it faces the setting sun on a crisp winter evening. This unit is essentially new, having been one of the locomotives damaged in flooding caused by Hurricane Sandy shortly after delivery. Many of the damaged ALP45s had never turned a wheel in revenue service...until now. |
