| UP's weekly "Leesdale Hauler" LOF65 grinds out of Moorpark, CA in great light after meeting Amtrak 784 behind three SD60Ms and a hefty train. This crew runs as a turn every Wednesday afternoon from Gemco Yard in Van Nuys to Oxnard, where most of the train is interchanged with the Ventura County Railroad and the rest is dropped for the LOF63 "Oxnard Local." The interlocking in the background is CP-LAS POSAS and is controlled by the Metrolink Valley/Ventura Sub DS. This is where the Metrolink Ventura Subdivision ends and the UP Santa Barbara Subdivision begins. Of interest, UP changed the mileage on their side several years ago so the power is on UP trackage at MP423.1 while the cars behind are at MP426.4 on Metrolink rails. |
