| Southern Pacific and the SD45 were somewhat synonymous in the late 1960s into the 1980s, as exemplified by SP SD45 8818, Cotton Belt SD45 8919 and SP SD45T-2 9189 climbing southern California's Cajon Pass with a westbound manifest on November 15th, 1980. |
