War Damn Caboose!!! Painted up in the colors of Auburn University, a caboose from the International Car Company of Kenton, Ohio will soon welcome tailgaters for the upcoming football season when they stay at the University Station RV Resort. This caboose was built for the C&O in the 1970s and was among the first cabooses to feature a cushioned underframe, all-welded steel construction, and roller bearing trucks for that railroad. It would later become part of the C-25 class of cabooses for the Chessie System and have its number changed to C&O 903272.
Have you ever watched cabooses, enjoyed their uniqueness, wondered about the men inside, or the jobs they do? Once an everyday sight on the rails, they have decreased in numbers, yet they are a very important part of railroad history.
