| Remarks & Notes |
| The Pullman Standard Frontrunner Single Axle Spine Car was a cost saving alternative to the 'circus style' end loaded flat cars of the early 1980s. Efficiency was improved when trailers were loaded via an overhead crane or a side loading forklift onto the lightweight 11.6 ton car. A Rio Grande Fruehauf Z-Van Trailer (102" wide by 45' long) and a 50 ft. 6" TTOX Frontrunner Spine Car (blt. July 1984) were on public display at the Rio Grande depot in Salt Lake City for Utah Transportation Day, 1986. |
