Built by Electro-Motive Division in March 1972 as C&S 911, this unit still looks in proper condition still in factory paint when it was delivered to the Colorado and Southern. Eventually, it was renumbered to BN 6359 and has worn that number until the merger in 1996 with the Santa Fe Railway. Eventually, it was renumbered and patched for BNSF to now read the BNSF 6393. Up until the the 2008 era, it was then renumbered once again to now read the BNSF 1966 because BNSF purchased more GEVOs and needed to make room on their roster. Today, BNSF 1966 can be found in local service anywhere on the system, case and point here at Longmont. In the BN era, this unit probably saw much service on Powder River Coal Trains when used on the Burlington Northern.
