A steam train in wintertime is very rare on the Rorschach-Heiden Bergbahn (RHB), now belonging to the Appenzellerbahnen (AB). The only 6 kilometre long line with rack system Riggenbach has a maximum grade of 9.4 % and goes from 339 m a.s.l in Rorschach to Heiden on 792 m a.s.l.
Steamlocomotive Eh 2/2 3 "Rosa" was built in 1951 by SLM for "Maschinenfabrik Rüti AG" (this factory had a rack track from the work to Rüti station) and came to the RHB in 1997, it is operated by Eurovapor Sulgen.
The steamtrain for "HAG Reisen" is only some minutes from its destination Heiden.
