Looking west toward the setting sun on the Aurora sub in Chana, Illinois. A tiny midwestern town, Chana has no stores, no gas stations, amid miles of corn. I had stopped there looking for something to drink, and after driving around for a few minutes, spotted a soda vending machine by the side of the road. Could this thing be working? Turned out to be connected to a nearby farmhouse by a long extension cord, and stocked with all my favorites. What luck.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
