Excellent shot of an empty railroad, which works very well.

What more suiting of a PC then a "rail pic"? Nicely captured!

Love the dynamic range you captured, Stephen! Wonderfully processed and captured and a very well deserved PCA!

I second what Chase said. Beautiful scene and great execution with the camera and in post. Well-deserved PC!

Love the composition and technical expertise bringing out the color and sense of desolation in the location. Really an outstanding image!

Thank you all very much! I'd driven over this road many times but as best I can recall never at sunset. And to think, I missed the Daylight rolling through here on her way to Trainfest by just a couple of days...

Stephen - I LOVE this photo, and I love the story. I must say that I decided to do some "searching" and I went to "Google Maps - Street View" and "drove around"! I ACTUALLY FOUND THAT POP MACHINE!! The Google image is from 2012 - and it's located by the house at/near approximate address of 104 Railroad Street, Chana, Illinois. That is funny! Like I said, your description, and story was inspirational for me to actually check out the area. So any of you railfans traveling through Chana, IL - just visit Railroad Street, and you'll find/see the pop machine that Stephen mentioned in his remarks. Maybe even stop and take a "selfie" and post it here with your train photo. Love it! Again, Stephen - Awesome photo.
