| Upon reaching the summit of Cajon Pass, at Highland (on SP's Palmdale Cutoff), this westbound SP train had to stop and line the switch to enter the siding for a meet. Cotton Belt SD45 8980 and the rest of the consist is seen here accelerating into the "hole" for a meet with an eastbound led by Union Pacific power, which in another 17 years would become the norm when UP merged the SP out of existance. |
