Heber Valley Railroad's MRS-1 1813 shows off it's new 'Retro Grande' paint, looking right at home on former D&RGW rails in Provo Canyon. HVRR’s Michael Manwiller worked behind the scenes on 1813’s restoration which included reconstruction of the long hood structure, refurbishment of the engine room and radiator section of the superstructure, installation and modification of modern, M.U. compatible snowplows on each end, skirting under the running boards to cover the air reservoirs and improve aesthetics, research into the early Rio Grande diesel paint scheme, and the old-school technique of "reverse masking" and painting. The results speak for themselves in the high quality finished product. Kudos to Michael Manwiller and the shop staff at Heber Valley Railroad for their efforts.
