Our next shot and my final chase shot 213 crosses over the Pacolet River with CBFX 6030.
Next spot we chased it to was Grover, NC. You couldn't have picked a better day for something neat like this to run. Also notice the difference in the number boards.
Word soon got out that 213 had a CBFX XBN SD60M leading. And the railfans came out for this one. So here's 213 in the trench in Gastonia. This is where we joined in the chase.
Coming back into Canton and lugging up the grade T31 passes the famous house and trestle.
Roaring back through town and just cresting the grade. T31 rolls by a bystander taking a video. I bet it was a good one with the train in notch 8 here.
T31 is in notch 8 passing Coburn to make a run up the 3.3% grade bake to Canton.
T31 passes through the country side of Candler, NC as the mountains for which this railroad was named after makes a nice backdrop for this photo.
After completing work at Asheville T31 rolls through the small town of Enka headed for Canton.
T31 looks right at home on the NS. They are seen here crossing the French Broad River coming into Asheville, NC.
After they finished working Evergreen Packaging T31 reverses back to change tracks and get ready to head to Asheville.

173 crosses the Pacolet River with a UP SD70M leader. This is another spot I enjoy coming out to and getting pictures.
After having to wait behind 153 for a 154 that was in emergency in Spartanburg. 211 get's underway crossing the 100 year old bridge structure that's in Gaffeny, SC.
153 crosses the Thicketty Creek. This bridge that it is using to crosses the creek was built in 1918. It's hard to imagine that something like this was built 100 years ago and it still serving the... (more)
