Remarks: The two latest offerings for the Australian market from the main locomotive equipment suppliers are represented in this image of QRN LDP004 (Downer EDI/EMD GT46-ACe) and QRN 6002 (UGL Rail/GE C44ACi) with a short 5SM9 service from Sydney to Melbourne, slowly coming through McIntyre due to total CTC failure on the North East line. 6002 was dead attached and on delivery from UGL Rail in NSW to Melbourne.
Remarks: The Ski Train sits on the Tabernash wye between duties in March 1982, with 3086 and 3123 providing the horsepower and steam generator 251 providing the heating - via an electrical cable which can be see coming out of the back cab window of 3123.
