Remarks: Anina mine was opened in 1972, and it was one of the oldest mining exploitations in Romania. It was scheduled to be closed at October 2006, but after a methan gas explosion that took 7 lives, immediate closure was ordered in January, and valuable mining equipment has been moved from the site. Back then 300 out of 540 workers were laid off. Nowadays, although some of the structures collapsed near tracks, the Oravita to Anina passenger service still operates through the abandoned and unguarded site, where the metallic parts of the remaining equipment gives income to a few local families.

Remarks: 60 type diesel engines waiting at Dornesti depot. There's at least 10 small differences between the rebuilt and the classic engines, although the main parts didn't changed any.

Remarks: The afternoon service descends to reach the river level near Elbasan. This part of the line was finished in 1973, due to this these type of concrete viaducts was used all over the line.

Remarks: Outlook from a bunker near lake Ohrid. If I had to choose from these concrete shelters, this one seems to be a good decision. Lake, mountains, and the railway line could make the long hours less boring.

Remarks: Secured crossing in the Albanian way. As the morning passenger train on its way to Tirane arrives, a railroader come to the crossing by bike from the next village, and close one of the gates for the train. There is no opposite console for the gate, so he simply puts it on the ground. Only two passenger trains work on this line, so he don't have too much work to do.
