Remarks: Off of the Meadville Line and now on the Youngtown Line, 533 clears Center on its way to Conway. Note the staged hopper train on the CSX/NS interchange track in the background.
Remarks: Two well known names in railroading, Conrail and Renzenberger set the scene for a crew pick up. The engineer grabs his grip and shoots the camera wielding maniac a glance before he tosses his stuff in the cab.
Remarks: NS 533 enters Meadville Yard past the former ERIE locomotive shops in the background, and the French Creek Rail Historical Society’s static display off frame to my right that will soon have a new piece of equipment sitting in front of their ERIE painted caboose along RT6.
Remarks: WNYP 4264 smokes it up in typical Alco style as he pulls a cut of cars west on the Jack Track in Meadville to reverse the switch and couple onto another cut of cars.
Remarks: The 21 degree Paint Creek Bridge at Bryners Mill. The last train to my knowledge over this bridge was an excursion special from Marienville to my hometown of Knox in 1993 powered by S6 #44, with the rails removed in 2000. The future of the remaining Knox and Kane ROW west of Clarion Jct. doesn't look well as an abandonement petition has been filed in the last few weeks.
