All the famous BAR 8800 series boxcars are being scrapped this summer at the Derby shops. This is one of the last ones waiting to be scrapped as soon as the wheels are moved.
Ex BAR 5800 series built by Berwick in 1972 are now owned by Andersons and are being fixed up and repainted at Derby. This one is in the sandblast getting prepared to be sandblasted
The BAR name and the car shop will live on. Anderson is having the MMA car shop refurbish and paint all the 5800 series BAR boxcars that were built in 1972.

The NMJ switcher is a single man remote control Job where the remote operator acts as the engineer, conductor and section man. It is a tuff job when you have blizzard conditions.
