Amtrak's California Zephyr parallels Interstate 70 and the Colorado River on its way towards its next stop in Glenwood Springs.
Along the Colorado River, Amtrak Train 6 approaches Dotsero at just after 3pm.

The California Zephyr is several hours late as it drops downgrade toward the stop at Helper, UT a few miles ahead.
We waited for three hours on this hillside overlooking Shed 10 on Donner Pass before any trains arrived.
