LS&I 3009 and WC 6509 are teamed up on WC train ACLD at Kinross as they move Tilden pellets to Algoma Steel in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. The WC had 8 LS&I U30C's on lease over the winter of 1996.

Out of 79 L&N U30C units, 77 would survive long enough to be renumbered into the Seaboard System/CSX 7000 series. SBD 1571, still assigned its L&N number, would later become SBD/CSX 7265

U30C 5377 heads three BN U-boats into the Soo yard after making the first trip up Rutledge Hill with the front half of a Fruitland bound coal train. BN coals were a frequent visitor to the Soo.
