A second train followed behind the regular passenger train. This train consisted of a coach and some mix freight. People could also buy tickets to ride in the caboose.
Stockton was a great escape from the mundane Sacramento fare of SP. Here I could see the "exotics", ATSF, ST&E and WP. Yeah, yeah I know WP came thru SAC but it wasn't the same as the shops.
As I recall this was one of those "family" trips and I was being humored by being allowed to stop off for a short visit. "Ooh, they all look alike, but go ahead it you must". Thus I only have one... (more)
The railroad was abandoned but still in place. The track looked pretty good but this was the motive power, sadly derelict by the former best customer, apparently.
These brand new Hummers being delivered to the 101st Airborne at Ft. Campbell via the Cadiz are very welcome. Of course the 82nd Airborne got their's earlier. Too bad there wasn't enough traffic... (more)
